FREEDY MERCURY AS THE HULK 🎤 SOLAR CSSYSTEM 🌌 BETTER COMMITS ✍🏿

Heya,

It's a great week for celebrating the past; Freddy Mercury goes Golden Age, and WinXP is back. In a manner of speaking.

There are also some great text-based games, and forcing the 21st century on the best games of yesteryear. It was a great week for visuals.

Enjoy,

Chris.

🕸️ The Cool Side of the Web

Freddy Mercury saves the world as a hero in these gorgeous Golden Era comic books. 👑

They're not all Golden Era; Watchmen is slightly out of place here, also the weakest I think, but they are all gorgeous.

Side note: My friend claims Queen is the best music to clean your house too. It worked for me, please let me know if this also worked for you.

Non-stop stream of death metal made by a neural network. ☠️

The YouTube stream does occasionally stutter when first opened, but once it gets going the neural network defies the pauses that reduce human players to pauses. It also has an entertaining live chat with my favorite comments like "YES".

Working website of Windows XP which lifts your soul.

Faithful reproduction of the classic XP style; play Minesweeper, use Winamp, doodle with MS-Paint and reflect on simpler times.

MandalaGaba is an online tool for making manadalas.

This is very, very enjoyable. You can control multiple aspects of the recursion including placement and angle to create amazing mandala's and promote zen. Or, just doodle.

Paying it back: Maddy Osman is a great writer and she's going all out to help other writers with a $1000 grant and a year of mentoring.

This is a really good opportunity to get support from one of my favorite WordPress writers. If you know a freelancer who could use a boost, then get them over to Maddy's site toot sweet.

Just drop over to her site and answer this question: "How would $1000 change your #freelance business?" to get in the running.

Entries close on 4/30/19, so if you want to give your freelance writing a boost then hop over today.

⚒️ Tools and Resources

An educational demo of the solar system in good ol' CSS.

This is so good because it has all the information you need on tilts, lengths of days and years and you even see them spin.
Lookit Jupiter go. Reckless.

Pulling apart SVGs with reusable WebGL components using React-three-fiber. 🤩

Pretty much disproves the theory that beauty has many forms. This is beauty; these animations look incredible. Now, I am going to go and make a mess of some SVGs.

And, that's a wrap.

If you have links burning a hole in your browsers, then fling them to me on Twitter.

Forwarding is a kind of magic, forward away to your friends and well-wishers.

If you arrived via a forward, then stop by the signing booth to get on the cool list.

Have a great week,

Chris
